Here’s where players can discover the device in Fortnite chapter 3 season 1.
After waiting eighteen hours for Fortnite chapter 2 season 1, we are finally able to drop in-game. Some players are still experiencing numerous issue when trying to log in including an Epic Games service queue or getting the error you don’t have permission to play Fortnite.
If you are lucky enough to avoid these issues, you’ll get to the short cut scene where you end up on a small island off the main island and you need to make your way and sit on a rock next to The Foundation and the rest of the crew.
After a short speech, you’ll get into the lobby for the new chapter. As with all seasons and chapter in Fortnite, there are challenges / quests to complete in order to level up and unlock Battle Stars.
One of the challenges for week 1 require players to “discover the device”. Here’s the location on the chapter 3 season 1 map where you can complete the challenge.
Where to Discover the Device in Fortnite
There are several different device locations that you can discover around the map. For convenience sake, we’ll show you one of the locations where you can complete this challenge.
Head towards the middle of the new map and on the south side of the main water, you’ll find a metal building. Head inside and you’ll discover the device on the floor. Here’s what it looks like in-game:
Collect the device by interacting with it. Once you do, a voice note from The Scientist will play. It’s likely going to tie in to the story line for chapter 3, but there will likely be other players around trying to complete this challenge at the same time as you so be careful!
