Three months ago, MrPopoTFS stated that gifting would be coming to Fortnite Battle Royale, but no exact date was given. There hasn’t been any new information regarding the gifting system for some time, however we now have a preview of the system and how it’ll work.
@the1Jaren who has access to a staging build of the game have accessed the gifting feature, showing how players will be able to gift people items.
When gifting an item, you select the recipients as well as having the ability to personalize the gift with a message. You’ll be able to gift multiple players at once. Judging by the image, it appears as though you can gift yourself an item.
When selecting an item in the item shop, there’ll be a button you either purchase the item for yourself as normal, or buy the item as a gift. It appears as though there are limits to how many times you can send a gift to an individual.
There is still no official news when the gifting system will be released, however with the development of this feature seemingly finished, it’s only a matter of time before Epic annouce the arrival of this much anticipated feature.
