With v5.3 coming to Fortnite on Thursday, Epic employee MrPopo, had teased what item would be coming to Battle Royale. It was thought by many that it would be the Grappling Hook, but it looks like it is something entirely different. Epic Games have updated their in-game news feed to announce a new item that is coming to Fortnite Battle Royale, the Rift-To-Go.
The description of the new item reads:
“A rift you carry in your pocket! Teleport above your current location and glide down.”
There is no more information on this item, but it seems quite self explanatory. Players will be able to conjure their own rifts and drop from the sky, which will be great for players that aren’t winning the fight and can quickly escape.
Being able to drop from the sky again will allow players to escape the fight and can also be used to scout the area for enemies. It will need to be decided whether its worth taking up an inventory slot for this item when it gets released with the v5.3 update.
