Crosswordle is similar to Wordle in that you are given the answer, but you must work backward to see if you can figure out what words you could have used to complete the puzzle. You are given a grid and must fill it in with words while keeping the colour of the tiles in mind.
The colour of the tiles indicates which letters can be placed in them, with green tiles representing the letter in the answer in the same position. Yellow can be any letter in the solution as long as it is not in the same position as the solution. Grey must be a letter that does not appear in the answer at all, and these letters must not appear in the row above or below as well.
This game is harder than it appears, but don’t worry as we’ll be back every day with the answers so you can see what words we used to help you complete your puzzle. Because of the nature of the puzzle game, multiple words could have been used, and we will reveal another solution every day.
What is the Crosswordle 116 Answer Today? (May 15, 2022)
The Crosswordle 116 puzzle today requires you to fill in five words instead of the three word puzzles that are normally released on the weekdays. The word we are given at the bottom of the grid is ‘Steam’ and there are two green tiles in the row above, which have to be S and T. There is also a yellow tile in the row which can be an A or M but due to the starting of the word, will have to be the A.
The fourth row has one green tiles, which have to be an S. There are two yellow tiles in this row, which will have to be a T as the third letter and the other tile will have to be the A. The third row has two yellow tiles, which can be any other letters in the coloured-tiles making sure that the letter is not repeated in the column.
There top two rows are all grey tiles, which means that the letters in these rows cannot be used in the other rows. Here are the words that I used to complete the Crosswordle 116 puzzle today:
