Here is how I solved the daily Dordle 42 today. I first started with the word ‘AUDIO’. This showed me there was an A and D in the first word and an O in the second, but none of these letters were put in the correct place in the word. I then wanted to check if there was an E in the word, so I focused on the first word and guessed the word ‘DRAPE’. This showed me there was an E in the word and both the E and the A were put in the correct place. It seemed likely to me that the word ended in ‘ADE’ and I managed to get the answer to Dordle 42 in my next guess, which is..

Looking at the second word, I now knew there is an O and P in the word, and the placement of these letters is not yet know. I decided to guess the word ‘STOOP’ which luckily placed the ‘OOP’ in the correct place and then I was able to guess the answer to Dordle 42 on my next guess, which is..
