Here’s what we know will be in the v10.20 Fortnite patch notes tomorrow including the introduction of the Shield Bubble item.
- UPDATE 1: Patch notes still not released, new Fortnite X Mayhem collaboration announced. More info at the bottom.
- Update 2: Full patch notes linked at the bottom.
Epic Games updated the in-game news feed to announce the new item that would be coming to the game, the Shield Bubble. Here’s everything we know so far that is confirmed to be coming in the v10.20 update.
Fortnite v10.20 Patch update release time
Epic then announced that the v10.20 patch update would be coming tomomorrow, 27th August with server downtime set to begin at 4 AM ET. The server downtime will likely last at least an hour.
Shield Bubble
As this item hasn’t been in the files previously, there’s no way to know exactly how the Shield Bubble will work, so we’ll have to wait until the v10.20 patch notes are released in order to find out. It’s likely, however, that players would use the new item by throwing it, which will create a shield that will likely expire after a certain duration, or once the shield has absorbed a certain amount of damage.
The Return of Moisty Mire?
We could see Moisty Mire return in some form in tomorrow’s update. Rift beacons have been placed at three different locations on the map, all of which have changed in some form.
A rift beacon was placed and activated near Paradise Palms, and it’s likely that this week we’ll see Moisty Mire return in some form as stated by dataminers at the start of Season X. We’ll have information on the rift zone in the v10.20 official patch notes.
Bug Fixes
Every patch/client update includes a host of bug fixes. The Fortnite Trello board hasn’t been updated this time around, but we know there’ll be a handful of bug fixes in v10.20. One of those bug fixes is the issue with the Take 14 Emote not displaying properly.
Save the World Pickaxes
Epic confirmed in a blog post that the Save the World locker will be getting pickaxes. Cosmetic versions of the pickaxe which you’ve unlocked in Save the World will be available to use in every game mode including Battle Royale.
As this is the major update, you can expect leaks on cosmetics, new items, future rift zones, loading screens, week 5 and week 6 mission objectives/challenges, and much more.
