Here’s everything you need to know about Ascenders in Fortnite chapter 3 season 2.
At the start of every new season of Fortnite, Epic Games make slight changes to the challenge system. In season two, we still have the daily and weekly challenges along with the milestones, all of which provide players with XP.
However, Epic Games introduced Boot Camp and Rebuilding challenges in the first week of the season. They also added in a new set of challenges called “Resistance”.
The Resistance challenges go live two days earlier than the weekly challenges, on a Tuesday. They require players to establish uplinks, use disguise kits, and destroy road barriers.
Usually, the weekly challenges are more straightforward than the Resistance challenges, but a couple of the challenges this week have confused some players, namely the challenge that required players to use an Ascender at Chonker’s Speedway and Command Cavern.
For those of you wondering, here’s what an Ascender is in Fortnite, how to use it, and the exact locations where you’ll be able to find them on the chapter 3 season 3 map.
What is an Ascender in Fortnite chapter 3 season 2?
The question players are looking to find the answer to is what an Ascender is in Fortnite. They are the ropes that players can use in order to zip up or slide down the blimps that are scattered around the map.
Here’s an example:
A lot of players assumed this was some sort of device that could be found at Chonkler’s Speedway and Command Cavern, but that’s clearly not the case.
You can find the blimps on the minimap, so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding them when you’re landing at either Chonker’s Speedway or Command Cavern.
Simply zip up an ascender or slide down one if you land on the blip. Once you’ve done this, you’ll have completed the challenge and earned yourself 20,000 season 2 XP.
