There are no initial clues given as to what the word could be, but once you have made a guess, the tiles will change colour letting you know more about the letters in the word. The three different colours the tiles could change to are grey, yellow, or green.
Grey indicates that the letter you guessed is not in the word at all, so you should avoid using it in future guesses.

Green indicates that you have guessed the correct letter and placed it in the correct location, which is the colour you want to see!

What is the Wordle 976 Answer Today? (February 20th, 2024)
Here is how I managed to solve Wordle 976 in four guesses today. I guessed the word ‘AUDIO’ first, which is my usual starter word.
This word showed me that there is an A in the answer, but it is not the first letter.
I wanted to guess a word that puts the A in a different position and has an E in it, so I guessed the word ‘TRACE’ next.
The C was placed correctly, as well showing me that there is a T in the Wordle answer today.
The A is more than likely the second letter and so I guessed the word ‘LATCH’ next as it also places the T in a different position.
This was a great word to guess ad the A, T and H were all placed correctly.
Only the first letter was left to be guessed and looking at the letters left to be guessed. Luckily, I managed to solve the answer to Wordle 976 in my next guess, which is…
MATCH!
