Fortntie Vaulted Weapons and Items

Weapons and items come and go in Fortnite and when they’re removed from the game, they go into the vault where they may or may not return.

Epic Games update Fortnite on a weekly basis, adding a new weapon or item into Battle Royale. From time to time, Epic will vault weapons or items if they are overpowered and can’t be balanced correctly, if they aren’t effective, or if they need to make room for new items. Reddit user Jaydragon978 has created an image outlining every item in the vault, including holiday themed weapons and weapon rarities that are no longer in the game. Here’s the full list of items and weapons in the vault:

Fortnite Vaulted Weapons

Burst Assault Rifle (Uncommon, Common & Rare)
The uncommon, common and rare variants of the Burst Assault Rifle were first introduced in the v1.6 update. The weapon received a few changes whilst it was in the game however, Epic decided to vault the weapon in the v7.10 content update #3.

Drum GunFortnite Drum GunThe Drum Gun was introduced in the v4.5 content update and was available in uncommon and rare variants. A large portion of the community weren’t happy with the gun as it was considered an overpowered weapon. Epic attempted to balance the weapon in the v5.20 update, reducing the fall off range damage, decreasing the jump and targeting accuracy, and reducing the spawn rate from chests and floor loot by 40%. However, the gun was vaulted a month later in the v5.40 update.

Double Barrel Shotgundouble barrel shotgunThe Double Barrel Shotgun was introduced into Fortnite Battle Royale in the v5.20 update and was available in Epic and Legendary variants. When introduced, the shotgun inflicted 143/150 damage, which was reduced to 114/120. A few months later, the shotgun was at the beginning of Season 7.

ZapotronFortnite ZapotronThe Zapotron was available in Battle Royale briefly, with the item being added in v1.6.3 and vaulted in v1.6.4. The weapon was extremely overpowered and could one shot anyone from any distance. Epic felt the weapon didn’t fit well in the current state of Battle royale and stated it’s something they may revisit.

Six ShooterFortnite Six ShooterThe Six Shooter was available in common, rare and epic variants and was introduced in v6.20. The weapon was extremely underwhelming and was rarely used by players. Subsequently, the item was vaulted in the v7.10 content update #3. The weapon, however, is still available in Playground and Creative.

Revolver
The Revolver was introduced in v1.6 and was vaulted in v5.40.

Guided Missileguided missileThe Guided Missile weapon was introduced in patch 3.4 and was overpowered from the start with 105/110 damage and 18 seconds lifetime. Epic attempted to balance the weapon by decreasing the maximum turn rate by 75% and reducing the missile speed by 15%. However, a week later, Epic acknowledged the Guided Missile was still overpowered and vaulted it whilst they figured out the next steps for it’s future. The weapon then returned in the v5.10 content update with reduced fuse duration (18 to 15 seconds), an increased reload time, reduced movement speed, reduced structure and player damage and more. The weapon was then vaulted in the v6.21 update.

Quad LauncherFortnite Quad Launcher Battle RoyaleThe Quad Launcher is an explosive weapon that was available in Epic and Ledendary variants. First introduced in v6.02, the quad launcher fired four rockets in quick succession. The launcher was vaulted in today’s v7.20 content update.

Submachine Gun, Tactical Submachine Gun & Supressed Submachine Gun
The submachine gun (not the current available submachine gun) and suppressed submachine gun were both introduced in patch 1.6. The submachine gun was vaulted in v2.5 and the suppressed submachine gun was vaulted in v6.00. The tactical submachine gun was introduced in patch v1.6.3 and vaulted in the v5.0 content update three weeks after receiving a nerf. The suppressed submachine gun received a buff that made it a more viable weapon at longer range than an assault rifle. The weapon then received a nerf and was vaulted a couple months later.

Light Machine GunFortnite LMGThe Light Machine Gun was first available in patch 3.5.2 and was vaulted in patch 6.00. During it’s time in the game, the Light Machine Gun didn’t receive any major changes.

Crossbow
The crossbow was first made available in patch 2.4.2 and was skinned thematically to match the Valetine’s day theme which was later removed in patch 4.00. The weapon was available in rare and epic variants.

Semi-Auto Sniper RifleSemi-Auto Sniper RifleIntroduced in v1.6, the Semi-Auto Sniper Rifle are rarely used by players and was vaulted in v6.21. The weapon made a return for the OneShot LTM.

Infinity BladeFortnite Infinity BladeThe Infinity Blade is a melee weapon that was available in Battle Royale as a Mythic variant. The sword slash dealt 75 damage to enemies and destroyed structures in one hit. The Infinity Blade also allowed players to leap great distances, destroying any objects in it’s path. Upon landing, nearby places would receive 25 damage as well as the sword sielder being granted the following abilities:

  • An increased pool of max Health and Shields (200 Health/200 Shields);
  • Regeneration of effective Health over time up to max Health and Shields (1 HP per second).
  • An instant burst of effective Health upon elimination of an enemy (50 HP).
  • Increased movement speed (130%).

The first player that obtained the sword from Polar Peak would receive full health and shield. Upon wielding the Infinity Blade, players would drop all their current weapons and items but building materials would remain. The weapon was extremely overpowered and was vaulted on December 14th, 2018.

Fortnite Vaulted Grenades

Smoke Grenade
The smoke grande was introduced in v1.9.1 but was vaulted in patch 3.5. The grenade was re-released on day 10 of the 14 Days of Fortnite event in Sneaky Silencers as well as the unvaulted ltm.

Port-A-Fort & Port-A-Fortress

The Port-A-Fortress is a legendary utility item that was an upgraded version of the Port-A-Fort. When throw, it created a much bigger fort than the Port-A-Fort and was built-in with Bouncers. The item was vaulted in the v7.20 content update.

Fortnite Other Vaulted Items

Remote ExplosivesFortnite Remote Explosives (C4)Remote Explosives were made available in patch 3.3 and were originally overpowered. Epic nerfed C4s several times by reducing the damage radius, the drop count and max stack size. They were then vaulted at the beginning of Season 6.

The item was vaulted at the beginning on Season 6 much to the dismay the community. The Bouncer pads were available on the Port-A-Fortress although the item was vaulted today in the v7.20 content update. It’s likely the Bouncer pad will make a return in the near future.

Chiller
The chiller trap was introduced in v6.01 and was vaulted in v7.00. The trap could be placed on floors, walls, or ceilings and would apply ice to players feet, causing them to slide around. This trap was arguably the worst item Epic introduced into Battle Royale and will likely never be unvaulted.
