The Fortnite PlayStation Cup 2022 starts today. Here’s the start time for each region, the prize pool, and the points system.
Fortnite players on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 are fortunate to get free cosmetics every couple of months if they are PS Plus members. Last month, players were given the Sultura skin along with the Cymitar Pickaxe.
A few months prior, players could get the Fixer skin and a back bling. There have also been PS4 and PS5 only tournaments, the first of which was the Celebration Cup held in February 2020. Not only could players win a free skin and pickaxe, there was a prize pool of $1,000,000.
In December 2020, a Fortnite Generations PlayStation tournament was held followed by the PlayStation Cup in September of last year. A few days ago, Epic Games announced the PlayStation Fortnite Cup for 2022. Here’s the start time, the prize pool, and anything else you’ll need to know.
PlayStation Cup Fortnite 2022 Start Time
Here are the Fortnite PlayStation Cup 2022 start times for each region:
Friday 14th January, 2022:
- UK: 6 PM GMT
- EU: 7 PM CET
- NA East & NA West: 6 PM ET, 6 PM PT
Saturday 15th January, 2022:
- UK: 11 AM GMT
- EU: 12 PM CET
- NA East & NA West: 9 PM ET, 9 PM PT

Prize Pool
Obviously, only players on PS4 or PS5 consoles can compete in the Fortnite PlayStation Cup. The tournament is a Solo competition with two rounds. Round 1 is an open competition where all participants will get a three hour window and a maximum of ten games to earn as many points as possible. The top 100 players will advance to the second round.
Round two will have a total of dix matches. The top performers will be in the money. Here’s a breakdown of the prize pool:

Scoring Points System
Each elimination in round one is worth one point and in the second round, eliminations are worth two points. Here’s the points you’ll get based on your placement:

8th: 15 points

How to Register and Play
As always, you’ll need to ensure you have 2FA activated on your account. Without 2FA, you won’t be able to play in the Fortnite PlayStation cup or any Fortnite cup or tournament. You also must have a account level of 50 to participate and you can play by heading to the compete tab when the PlayStation cup is live in your region.
