Epic Games had previously addressed the issue of the double pump in the V.3.0.0 update. The double pump was where players would fire the Pump Shotgun, switch weapons and select the Pump Shotgun again and players wouldn’t need to reload. With the update, the shotgun was forced to pump again before firing when it was selected again.
As you can see in this clip of Twitch Streamer, JASONR, it looks like the double pump is back:

As you can see, the first two shots fired are pretty quick. There is a slightly longer time to fire when switching back to the first shotgun, but the second shot is still very quick.
Looks like the Double Pump has made its comeback and players can counteract the long reload time and still have high damage shots.
