PlayStation were the only device that were not allowing cross-platform play at the start and Fortnite fans weren’t happy. Players that owned a PlayStation account had to create new account to be able to play on different platforms. This means that fans who has purchased skins on their PlayStation were not able to transfer them on new accounts they had made to be able to play on different devices.
It seems as though Sony has finally caved in and given their fans what they want with cross-platform play, starting with Fortnite. With the recent announcement of PlayStation allowing cross-platform play, there will be a new account-merging feature added to Fortnite in November. Here is what the official Fortnite account had tweeted:
For players who created an extra account to play Fortnite on multiple console platforms, we’re working on two things:
1) An account-merging feature to combine Battle Royale purchases, coming in November.
2) Enabling unlinking a console from one Fortnite account, and relinking to another Fortnite account. Coming in a few days.
