The Double Barrel shotgun was added to Fortnite Battle Royale in the v5.2 Patch in August and came in two rarities, Epic and Legendary. With Season 6 dropping tomorrow, we’ve been getting some teasers of what will be coming including custom bindings for controllers. It looks like we’ll also be getting some weapon balancing as well, with the Double Barrel shotgun getting a balance adjustment.
Epic Games design lead, Eric Williamson, tweeted out stating the Double Barrel effectiveness reduciton is just one of the balance adjustments coming with Season 6, meaning we’ll get getting other changes to weapons that are currently in the game.

We might see some changes to the double barrel shotgun and the tactical shotgun as well, with the majority of the player base complaining they aren’t consistent enough but we’ll have to wait until Season 6 tomorrow to find out.
