Epic have taken to social media to announce the time and date for the v9.21 Fortnite update, which will include server downtime.
Every week, Epic release a new update for Fortnite Battle Royale. Whether the update is a content update or a patch update, Epic have always updated the game on a regular basis.
Before each update, Epic update the in-game news feed (message of the day) to announce the new weapon or item that’ll be coming in the next update. Yesterday, Epic updated the feed to announce the arrival of a new weapon, the Proximity Grenade Launcher.
In the tweet on the official Fortnite Twitter account, Epic stated the next update is the v9.21 update, which will include downtime. Usually, Epic release a patch update followed by a content update, however, this isn’t the case this time around and we’ll likely see some bug fixes or performance issues fixed in the update.
The update will include server downtime, and server downtime will begin at 4 AM ET (8 AM UTC). Here’s the full tweet, “Watch your proximity! The v9.21 update lands tomorrow, June 12. Downtime begins at 4 AM ET(0800 UTC)”.
The Proximity Grenade launcher was leaked by dataminers from the v9.20 files last week, and it was obvious this would be the item making it’s way into the game next. Not only was the weapon itself leaked, the stats were leaked by Storm Shield One. The weapon will come in two rarities, Epic and Legendary. The damage of the weapon will be 67/70 with a reload time of 2.99725/2.8395. The magazine size for the weapon is only 2, so the proximity grenade launcher is unlikely to be over powered.
