Here is Epic’s response as to why the B.R.U.T.E. has not been removed from Fortnite Battle Royale.

Epic are always adding new things to Fortnite Battle Royale in order to keep it fresh and entertaining. At the start of Season X, Epic had introduced the B.R.U.T.E. which has had a lot of backlash from the Fortnite Community, with many players asking for it to be removed.

Epic have finally address the backlash in a blog post and have explained why they have not removed it from the game. You can read the full blog post below:

Heya folks,

We’ve heard the frequent discussions (#RemoveTheMech) about the B.R.U.T.E., and decided this would be a good opportunity to explain the Fortnite philosophy. The mission of Fortnite is to bring players of all skill levels together to have a fun experience where anyone can win. For example – everyone having a shot at that first elimination or Victory Royale moment and the satisfying feeling that comes with it. Right now, we know there are players out there who have never had that opportunity.

Another part of the mission is to provide spectacle and entertainment when playing Fortnite. Bringing these moments to the game every week means there is always a new way to enjoy and experience the game.

The B.R.U.T.E. was added at the start of Season X with this mission in mind. Since then, we have seen players who had previously struggled with getting eliminations acquiring more, while the number of eliminations earned by more experienced players remained steady.

B.R.U.T.E. encounters should feel like a unique engagement and not be the dominant experience during a game. We made adjustments to the B.R.U.T.E within Arena, in line with that goal. Specifically for Arena we made the change to spawn rate in order to reduce late-game encounters. This is due to a higher number of players surviving to those circles compared to non-Arena modes. We’re happy with the results and the below graphs represent the current state of B.R.U.T.E. eliminations across both Arena and core modes.

chart1.png
Above you’ll see the average number of B.R.U.T.E. eliminations per game in each mode (Solos, Duos, Squads, Team Rumble, Arena Solos, Arena Trios).

chart2.png
Above you’ll see the percent of B.R.U.T.E. eliminations per game in each game mode (Solos, Duos, Squads, Team Rumble, Arena Solos, Arena Trios).

We regularly have and will continue to release content that shakes up gameplay in Fortnite in unexpected ways. And we’re committed to providing a constantly evolving, entertaining and fun experience to all players.

Nope, they are not, they do have all that data on every vehicle and weapon and changes that “object” or “player” does in a single game so yeah
They can be fake but since they have all that data on their game like every other online game soo there’s no reason to make it fake

these seem like pretty valid reasons honestly, Fortnite’s whole thing has always been adding new aspects to the gameplay, to change your strategy and the way you play, new mechanics on the map, new vehicles/weapons/items/etc, it keeps things fresh, everybody would soon complain if they changed or added nothing so everybody could just stick with one strategy every, single, match, and maybe those people should go play a game they can handle a bit better? doesn’t seem like Fortnite is the game for them, it is always going to be like this with the game, they always have and always… Read more »

I agree. The only ones complaining are the sweats. I see for myself that lesser skilled players are getting more kills and wins.

Thanks, Epic! This game is tons of fun, and I have no real complaints.

hmm.

Yep this is the first time they have given a fair reason honestly heha, but yeah there aim was to make low skilled players get more kills and wins so they do have succeeded in that area and good players or “pros” are pros they like have the skills to adapt and fight in different situations and I think that should be more fun for a pro but ah well, I only see pro players complaining about brutes so yeah and to their credit, Brutes rockets are actually somewhat overpowered so if they could nerf or make that balanced then… Read more »

I’ve always agreed with the choice to keep Brutes so I’m glad they’re staying firm on it. The complaints are more annoying than the mechs tbh

A single seat mini-BRUTE, much weaker but more mobile and faster, would be cool.

Lol those graphems are bull. As if there’s only gonna be 6 eliminations with the mech in TEAM RUMBLE

well if you could not read a graph and spell it properly, it says 0.50 to like 1.50% of eliminations in a match and makes sense cuz there are soo many players together and Brutes does not stand a chance..

Imagine telling your friend that you died to the BRUTE every match and than realizing that you were one of maybe 3 people that died to it that game. LOL I’m glad EPIC spoke out and shared.

The graphs are clearly exaggerated or made up and it doesn’t accurately represent how many times one player gets killed by a mech

The fact that they didn’t even admit they were OP or apologize for the lack of communication is disgusting

It feels like in every single game the killfeed shows like minimum 10 BRUTE-kills. Is it just me who thinks those graphs are made up?
Brutes would’nt be so bad if there would be a fkn way to escape or build against or whatever. As soon as you’re spotted and it is chasing you, there is like nothing to do against it – except for those 1 out of 10 times you’re carrying boogie bombs

Shot the seats, there are two of em and in Solo’s, there is only gonna be a single-player using a Brute and that player has to switch seats in order to shoot you after that the player can not move and you can just literally spam bullets and the top seat and in duos there are two together so you both can aim for a single seat and in squads its way easier if you all work together so yeah there is a way and I deal with Brutes like this easily despite being a not so good player. These… Read more »

I’m disgusted with epic right now, I’m no sweat, i’m really average skill level but these things are irritating. The number of eliminations is low because people use them to survive to the end then win with one or two kills with the B.R.U.T.E. right at the end!!! Can no one see this?! dumboz

Epic Games doesn’t understand. Most people don’t give a fuk if it allows people with lower skill level to get eliminations. What about people with normal or great skill level?! Now, people like me repeatedly have to deal with these people that can’t get eliminations unless they use the mech! If you want the game to be so damn fair, why don’t you let the people with lower skill level get better at the game instead of giving them overpowered items to use! Epic games needs to get their crap together.

Many people do give a fuk, the people with normal or great skill level can adapt and have the skill to get many kills and wins so they enjoy the game and these people with lower skill level can not (many of em) get better not everyone can get good at this game, not every one has enough time to spend to “get gud” and this way it allowed those players to enjoy the game too and I am happy with that despite getting killed with mechs many times but I have adapted to it and I know how to… Read more »

Epic Games doesn’t understand. Most people don’t give a fuk if it allows people with lower skill level to get eliminations. What about the people with normal or high skill level?! Now, people like me have to deal with people that can’t get eliminations unless they use the mech! If you want the game to be so damn fair, let the people with lower skill level to get better at the game instead of giving them overpowered items to use that involve no skill whatsoever to use!

Doesn’t make sense. Those players who need to use the mech to win will never learn to play the game. They’ll rely on things to make them good without trying to improve their building/editing/aim.

you don’t understand the aim of the game is to let players of all skill level have fun while bad players never had fun and not everyone can be good at a game like this so yeah and this is what Fortnite is if you don’t like it then don’t play it its that simple, good and pro players can adapt and deal with mechs yall just don’t want to adapt to the new gameplay and complain when a noob kills you the aim is to let everyone have fun so that is what Fortnite has been from the start… Read more »

This a joke response right?? A enjoyable experience??? Epic is laughable at this point.. it a battle Royale .. not live in a robot and wait until end game and spamming missiles.. GTFOH!!! ENJOYABLE.. MORE LIKE HORRIBLE!!!!

Those graphs take the cake…

many bad players I know are enjoying this new season because of those mechs
and that was there aim, to let everyone type of player enjoy and pro players or good players do get many kills and win many matches so its already fun for them and they can adapt to it because they have the skill which not everyone has
this is what fortnite is and I like their aim, so do many players that I have talked too

It’s satisfying to achieve a Victory Royale with a B.R.U.T.E? Anyway, they should remove it completely from Arena. Otherwise you’ll have the biggest noobs playing on champion and the purpose of Arena is missed.
