There have been many players that have been frustrated with the double pump shotgun, as to how easy it is for players to switch between two pumps. This bypasses the weakness of the pump, which is the long reload time to counteract the high damage at close range. Since more players are aware of the flaw in the system, they are not using the tactical shotguns as a result.
This is an issue that Epic have been aware of for quite some time and we can confirm that this will now be fixed in the upcoming update, V.3.0.0. Epic employee EpicEricSW has posted on Reddit earlier today that there will be changed to the pump reload time.
This will definitely make it better for players close range to be able to compete at a more level footing. This will be a welcome update by many for sure!
