There’s a new Fortnite update today on Sunday, December 5 2021. Here’s v19.00 chapter 3 early patch notes, file size and more.
Fortnite chapter 2 came to an end yesterday after the finale event. Players helped defeat the Cube Queen with the help of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as the Foundation. Since then, we’ve been waiting for the servers to come back online.
As of writing, the servers are still down, but according to data-miners and what’s being displayed on the API, it seems like downtime will end at 10 AM ET today unless any last minute issues arise.
Although we still have a number of hours before we get to jump in and play, the new Fortnite update has gone live today, v19.00, which obviously is chapter 3. Here’s everything you need to know including the file size, early patch notes, and more.
Fortnite Update Chapter 3
Players are still wondering when does the Fortnite update happen and what time. A few hours ago, it was pushed live on consoles and just recently, v19.00 chapter 3 was pushed to PC.
We usually see an announcement from the status Twitter account but as this is a new chapter, it wouldn’t make sense for them to announce it and they haven’t tweeted about a set time when a new chapter launches.
v19.00 File Size
As always, the file size will differ depending on what platform you’re playing on. With all new seasons, the patch that you need to download will be much larger than a normal mid-season patch.

Chapter 3 19.00 Patch Notes
Epic Games will likely release official patch notes for the Fortnite v19.00 chapter 3 update that was released today. However, it’s unlikely they’ll post it before the servers are back up. We have some information already as to what we can expect.
There’s a new sliding mechanic that’ll allow players to move around the map quicker as well as use the feature in fights to gain the upper hand. We obviously also have a new Battle Pass with new skins including The Foundation with a skin style that has no helmet, Spider-Man and more.
We have the return of vaults in chapter 3 season 1 as well as superhero mythic items. The first mythic item of the season is Spider-Man’s web shooters / slingers. We don’t know how or where you can get them yet, but we’ll be releasing a guide on that after downtime.
There are several new weapons including another pump shotgun, and a new auto shotgun. One of the shotguns is called “Striker Pump Shotgun” and we have a new ranger assault rifle for mid to long range combat. We’ll go over each new weapon in more detail soon.
