Fortnite v7.00 brought about many changes, with map changes being one of them. There were quite a few new named POI’s added to the Battle Royale mode, which are located in the new snow biome. The sword that has been teased by Epic should be located in the Polar Peak POI, but we should be seeing a change to this POI in the v7.01 update.
Polar Peak is one of the few POI’s that have been added at the start of the season and as it stands, there isn’t much to see at this location. We had previously reported on a player that was able to make his way into the iceberg located at this POI to reveal a new village, which should be coming in future updates.
Epic have teased a sword coming to Fortnite, but have not mentioned how it will be incorporated to Fortnite. The best way to add this item and to ‘wield its power’ will be to add it in an LTM (Limited Time Mode), which could be very similar to the Infinity Gauntlet LTM that was released a few months ago. The teaser for the sword can be seen below, but pay close attention to the surroundings:
When StanPlay had gone into the iceberg, you could see the same buildings as shown in the trailer, but of course, the POI has not been fully updated as it is hidden in the iceberg. The image below shows the location in which the sword is located in the trailer:
If you look back when you are in the area, you would see the castle that is situated at the top of Polar Peak. The castle seemed to be floating at the time, but in the trailer, you can see what it looks like when it’s finished.
How will this location be revealed?
As it is hidden in the iceberg, you may be wondering how you will be able to get to this location. Leaks suggest that the iceberg will melt, revealing the village and sword and so we should be seeing this taking place in the v7.01 update scheduled to take place today (Tuesday 11th December).
We don’t have long to wait to see what Epic have planned for the sword!
UPDATE: Polar Peak has updated in the v7.01. Some of the snow has melted to reveal more places to access and loot.
