Epic have announced that they’ve temporarily disabled the Guided Missile, a weapon which was originally introduced into the game in patch 3.4 and was last vaulted in patch 3.5 due to the gun being considered overpowered. In v5.10, the Guided Missile was added back into the game with nerfed stats.
The reasoning of the Guided Missile being temporarily disabled, according to Reddit user Abdulelah_jo, is due to a glitch which allowed players to go permanently invisible with shadow stones, whilst having the guided missile equipped, spamming the fire button at the same time.
An issue that has plagued the Guided Missile since it’s reintroduction into the game is the bug whereupon launching a missile will result in the missile launching from a different direction to the direction the player is facing. Epic Games employee, MrPopoTFS, has confirmed that this bug will be fixed in v6.10.
