A player has found a new way to open Supply Drops instead of waiting for it to reach the ground.
Supply Drops are found in different locations around the map and drop at random. You can see where they are dropping if you are nearby and see the blue smoke, marking the spot it will land. It can take some time for the Supply Drops to land, meaning more players will become aware of the location and can wait around to eliminate players going for the drop.
One way to make the Supply Drops down faster is to shoot at them, which will make them drop when the health has been depleted. This can waste quite a bit of ammo and will alert enemies of your location and so isn’t advised. Reddit user zaidkhalifa has thought of a different method to open Supply Drops quicker without having to waste ammo, but will require you to have balloons. You can see the method below:

All you have to do is to position yourself in the smoke and then use three balloons to lift yourself into the air. You will then be stopped by the Supply Drop (providing you have positioned yourself in the right place) where you simply open it. You can then release the balloons to get down safely.
You could be sniped if an enemy is watching, so it’s best to open the Supply Drop as soon as possible.
