Epic have updated the in-game newsfeed to show that the Shockwave Grenade is coming to Fortnite. This was previously leaked in the files and we can now confirm this will definitely be coming to Fortnite Battle Royale:
The description reads:
“Send yourself, allies, or enemies flying like a human cannonball! Grants immunity to fall damage.”
This item looks like it will operate similar to the Impulse Grenade, but will most likely be more powerful and will thrust players further and players will not take any damage. The Shockwave Grenade will be of Epic rarity and it will most likely be added in the v5.3 Content Update. It has not been confirmed when this update will go live, but we will keep you updated with the latest.
Epic are always adding new items and weapons to Fortnite every week, but have moved some items and weapons to the Vault. It is possible that the Impulse Grenades could be vaulted in the future due to players preference of the Shockwave Grenades. Epic do look at the stats of picking up items and seeing which items are used when making the decision to improve or replace certain items from Fortnite and so it is possible that the Impulse Grenades could be vaulted in the future.
