Epic employee Eric has addressed issues that have been raised by players in a Reddit post today. Weapon swapping has been a big issue since the weapon equip time was introduced by Fortnite. This change was geared towards balancing quick switching between different weapons with low rate of fire (effectively bypassing the drawbacks that make these weapons fair). There will be a hotfix later today which will include the following changes. Snipers and Crossbows will not have slow equip times. The only weapons that will keep the newly added weapon equip times will be the Shotguns, Revolver, Hand Cannon, and the Rocket Launcher. Eric has also stated that the weapon equip animations will be improved in a future update. These are said to be misleading and it’s possible to fire sooner than the gun appears ready, so they feel more sluggish than they really are.
The Guided Missile has been placed in the Vault! Many players feel like the Missile is overpowered and so it should be returning once Epic has decided what should be done to make it fairer.
