The Mounted Turret was added into Fortnite Battle Royale yesterday in v6.30 and it was obvious to see from the outset that the item was somewhat overpowered. Epic have now addressed this issue with a nerf to the new legendary floor trap item in a hotfix. Here are the adjustments that have been released:
- Turret floor health has been reduced from 5000 to 1000
- Turret health has been reduced from 800 to 400

MrPopoTFS also posted a comment on Reddit stating that the collision volume of the Mounted Turrets will be adjusted in a future release as in it’s current state, it’s difficult to land shots against players that are occupying the Turret. On the Trello card, it states that the change will be “making it eaiser to land shots at all angles”.
On the Reddit post Epic made announcing the changes to the Mounted Turret, players have been complaining about a number of things including the decision to make the Turret a trap items instead of taking up an inventroy slot. Other players have been complaining about the aim assist on console, when trying to aim at the person using the turret, the aim assist will drag to the turret instead of the player. An Epic employee has replied to this comment mentioning that it has been passed off to their QA team who will look into this issue.
Ninja posted a video on Twitter outlining how effective using two Mounted Turrets are in solos. Using two turrets essentially gives no cooldown and allows you to continuously rain down shots on an opponent.

It looks like with all the complaints and bugs with the Mounted Turret, we’ll see more adjustments and fixes being made to the legendary trap item. If we see any more comments on Reddit from Epic devs replying to issues players are outlining, we’ll update this article.
