In Season 4 of Fortnite, Epic introduced the feature of upgrading Battle Pass skins when you level up. The skins that could be upgraded were the Carbide and Omega skins for Season 4 of Fortnite. Epic have continued this feature into Season 5 by having six different style to the Drift and Ragnarok skins.
In Season 4, there were many players that were unable to unlock the max style for the Omega and many felt that they had to grind in order to unlock all the styles. You can no longer get any rewards from the Battle Pass in Season 4, but it looks like Epic have heard the frustration of players that were unable to unlock the final piece for Omega and have made a change for the Battle Pass in Season 5.
If you look at the ‘Battle Pass FAQ’ section in-game, you will see the following:
Unlike the Carbide and Omega outfits introduced in Season 4, unlocking new styles for the Drift and Ragnarok skins can still be accomplished after Season 5 ends.
The V5.0 patch notes also states:
Starting in Season 5, progressive challenges will no longer be restricted to a single season. You can now complete progressive challenges at your own pace.
This means that players will be able to unlock all the styles for the Drift and Ragnarok skins after Season 5, meaning that players will no longer need to ‘grind’ to be rewarded with all the styles.
