The Fortnite v9.10 content update will go live on the servers soon and Epic have released the full patch notes for the update. Today’s update adds a brand new weapon to the game, the Burst SMG.
Epic Games introduce a new feature or item in Fortnite Battle Royale each week. Prior to an update going live, Epic will update the message of the day (news feed) and announce when the update will be arriving. Usually, Epic will update the news feed first to announce the arrival of the new item followed by when the update will be pushed live. However, Epic announced the date and time of the update prior to announcing what the new weapon would be. When the Fortnite Item Shop updated, the news feed was finally updated to announce the Burst SMG would officially be coming to the game.
The Burst SMG was leaked by dataminers in the v9.10 update. Not only was the image of the weapon leaked, but the rarities, stats and a short clip of the gun in action. Epic have released the patch notes for the v9.10 content update, which will officially go live at 12 PM UTC. You can read the full patch notes below:

TEAM RUMBLE
- Now spawning 4 hot spots each match, to ensure that there is at least one on each side more often. This is a temporary fix until we can set up functionality to force the same number on each side in big team modes.
