Each square in the grid is estimated to take about 45 seconds to go horizontally or vertically from one point to the other, providing the surface is flat. Going diagonally from one point to the other is approximately 64 seconds, again providing the surface is flat.
This information is very useful for players to judge when the best time will be to move as the storm starts setting in. It could also help to determine whether it is worth engaging in a fight with other players that you may encounter when running to avoid the storm.
