Here’s everything you need to know about today’s in-game live Fortnite unvaulting event including worldwide timings, a event countdown and more.
Fortnite Season 8 ends next week and we’ll have our first live in-game event of the season in a couple of hours. The season has been leading up to this point with a helicopter constantly moving around the map earlier in the season followed by several digsites appearing on the map.
In the v8.40 patch update, Epic made several changes to the map, one of which was the uncovering of a massive metallic structure in the middle of Loot Lake. Since the structure was uncovered, five runes were activated, requiring players to interact with them in different ways such as dancing in front of the rune, dealing damage to a grid in order for all the grid to display the same colors and more recently, feeding the volcano that was added to the map at the start of the season.
Every rune that activated caused more activity in the volcano. Dataminers leaked footage and images of Tilted Towers and Retail Row being destroyed by volcanic rocks, and dataminers believe the volcano will erupt, causing the volcanic rocks shooting out and destoyed the popular named location.
On the 29th April, a monitor in one of the buildings at Loot Lake turned on, displaying the vaulted Bounce Pads. There’s also a chalkboard in the building with a sketch of the metallic structure at Loot Lake with the text “Vault???”. There are a total of six screens, all of which have turned on to display vaulted items which are Bounce Pads, Drum Gun, Tactical SMG, X-4 Stormwing Plane, Grappler and the Infinity Blade.
Dataminers leaked event files in the v8.50 update that suggested an “unvaulting” live Fortnite event would be coming where players had the chance to vote on which item they’d like to see unvaulted. This was confirmed when the monitors/screens starting turning on at Loot Lake.
