Here’s the unofficial Fortnite patch notes for the launch of Fortnite chapter 2 season 5 (v15.00).
Fortnite season 5 Zero Point is here and it could be one of the best seasons since the launch of chapter 2. Along with a brand new battle pass including The Mandalorian along with a Baby Yoda back bling, we also have new items, massive map changes including the return of Tilted Towers in the form of Salty Towers, and much more.
As of writing, the Fortnite servers are still currently down. That means there’ll be things we’ll need update and possibly change. However, we have enough information to create Fortnite patch notes for today’s Fortnite season 5 v15.00 update.
Let’s dig in and take a look and everything that today’s new Fortnite update brings including map changes, new weapons, vaulted weapons and more.
Bug Fixes
Every new Fortnite update comes with some bug fixes, especially new seasons. However, we always see brand new bugs added to the game during season launches. These will be patched within the next couple of weeks along with any server and performance issues that arise.
It looks like there aren’t that many bug fixes in today’s v15.00 Fortnite update. Here’s what we have so far from the Trello board:
- Huntress Outfit appearing as Ramirez or another Outfit.
- Impossible to bind the same key to different actions with Keyboard.
- Bash Burner Pickaxe temporarily disabled in competitive playlists.
New Map – Salty Towers, Stealthy Stronghold, Colossal Coliseum, Hunter’s Haven
We have a lot of map changes for Fortnite chapter 2 season 5. Tilted Towers has made a glorious return and merged with Salty Springs, hence the name Salty Towers. Here’s a quick look at what the new Tilted Towers looks like:
Other new Fortnite map locations include Stealthy Stronghold which can be found on the north west side of the map, Colossal Coliseum near Salty Towers, and Hunter’s Haven near Lazy Lake.
New Weapons
We have two brand new Fortnite season 5 weapons in the form of the Dragons Breath Shotgun and the Amban Sniper Rifle. The Dragons Breath Shotgun shoots all four bullets at once and has some impressive damage stats. The Amban Sniper Rifle can double up as a melee weapon. We have a dedicated article to the new weapons here.
Vaulted & Unvaulted weapons
It wouldn’t be a new Fortnite season without some huge changes to the meta from the previous season. The pump shotgun has been vaulted along with the revolver, legendary combat shotgun, scar, legendary bolt-action rifle and more. Take a look at the full list here.
New Items
There’s a bunch of new items in today’s Fortnite update for season 5 (v15.00) including new floppers, a shadow tracker, bounty board and more. We’ll definitely cover some of these individually for more depth. However, here’s the new items:
- Shadow Tracker
- New Floppers
- Tiger Zero Fish
- Leafy Zero Fish
- Skull Zero Fish
- Rift-To-Go Flopper
- Sandstorm Rift Flopper
- Zero Point Flopper
- Bounty Board
- Gold Bars & Safe
- Mandalorian’s Jetpack
Bounty System
As we mentioned before, we’re writing this before the servers are back up. However, from leaks we know there’s a brand new bounty system. This new feature includes a bounty board which can be seen below.
This is something we’ll need to wait for the servers to come back online to learn more about the Fortnite bounty system. We’ll have a dedicated article for this, but here’s the official description of the system:
“As hunters, it is your duty to help the characters of the island in this new reality. Accept their missions and contracts, obtain information in the surroundings or hire them as allies. Don’t you want to negotiate? Challenge them to a duel and collect the rewards“.
New Battle Pass
A brand new season of Fortnite also bring a new battle pass. We have some epic skins including a Mandalorian and Anime skin. But that’s not all, we also have a Baby Yoda back bling that’ll float behind you and follow you around. For the full breakdown of the Fortnite season 5 battle pass, go here.
