It looks like we have some clues as to when Fortnite Winterfest 2020 begins.
Epic Games released the v15.10 Fortnite update earlier this week. Three new weapons were added to the game including the big chill and level action rifle. Players were unhappy tha the Fortnite Winterfest 2020 Christmas event didn’t go live as soon as the servers were back up after the scheduled maintenace.
A couple of days ago, it started snowing in Fortnite which usually happens when the Fortnite Christmas event is near. According to data-miners, there won’t be any more snow falling on the map. However, when the Winterfest event begins, the whole map will likely be covered in snow and we’ll get snow storms like we did last year.
Players are now waiting to see when the Fortnite Winterfest 2020 Christmas event will begin and we have a couple of clues as to when it’ll start.
When is Fortnite Winterfest 2020?
Although there’s no official announcement, all signs point towards Fortnite Winterfest 2020 starting today, December 18th. The Fortnite Item Shop will reset at 9 AM ET (2 PM GMT) which is usually when event challenges release.
UPDATE: First challenges ARE LIVE CLICK HERE.
Furthermore, Epic Games are providing the Sing Along emote to everyone for free. Players will able to get the emote at the same time the item shop resets, 9 AM ET (2 PM GMT). Finally, the Christmas event from last year began on December 18th as well, making it more likely it’ll start today.
For those of you that aren’t aware, this years Christmas event will be called Operation Snowdown. There won’t be a cabin like there was last year, but there will still be challenges which provides players with the chance to get 2 free Fortnite skins.
There’s a bunch of other cosmetics too and it’s likely we’ll be in for more surprises once Epic Games finally make an official announcement on the event. Be sure to stay tuned as we should see an announcement in a few hours.
