Members of the community are always coming up with new ideas for the LTM’s in Fortnite Battle Royale and one Reddit user mentioned a Gun Game style mode, which Epic employee DustyDevo replied to:
Looks like Epic are already working on a LTM which will also include respawning, which has never been done before in Fortnite.
For those that don’t know, Gun Game is where all players start off with the same gun and as players get a kill, they progress to the next weapon and so on until one player gets a kill with the last gun, winning the match.
It will be interesting to see how Epic Games incorporate this game mode into Fortnite, as there are 100 players in each match and the map is quite large for this particular mode. DustyDevo did say that they will be making the storm close in quicker to force players closer together. There will also be the new respawn feature that Epic are looking to add for this LTM, but it is not clear how this would work.
It may be better to have less players in each match and only have a section of the map where players could spawn. Alternatively, the storm could start closing in every time a player gets killed, forcing players to be closer together and make the game more action packed.
Another question would be if players would get unlimited ammo or if they would still need to loot to get the ammo and if consumables will be used in this game mode.
It will be interesting to see how Epic add this Limited Time Mode to Fortnite, as it different from any other mode we have seen before.
