It was announced earlier today (June 24th) that the much anticipated Playground Limited Time Mode will be coming to Fortnite Battle Royale soon. The Playground LTM will be coming in the next update, which will most likely occur on Tuesday 26th June.
Features of the Playground LTM
- It will load you into the Battle Royale Map with some adjusted settings
- There will be an extended period of time to roam around the map
- There will be increased resources
- All treasure chests and ammo crated will be spawned
- Friendly fire will be on
- Instant respawn
- There will be up to four friends per match
- There will be an increased spawn for Llamas
- It will not be tracking stats and challenges will not count, for obvious reasons
We will be seeing players respawn, which is something we have not seen in Fortnite Battle Royale before. There will be no delay from when players die to when they respawn back on the map, but it is not yet clear if players will respawn where they died or in a different area of the map.
Friendly fire used to be in Fortnite Battle Royale when it was first released but was removed due to some players participating in friendly-fire to ‘troll’ their teammates. We will see friendly fire re-enabled for this Limited Time Mode, which will be a perfect opportunity for friends to face off against each other and have their own battles. There will only be four friends per match.
Building is the core mechanic that separates Fortnite from other Battle Royale style games and so it is a must to master this skill to survive. With an increase in building resources, this is the perfect opportunity for players to improve their building skills.
For players that are quite new to the game, there will be an extended period of time for players to be able to explore the island at leisure. All locations on which the Treasure Chests and Ammo Crates can spawn will be spawned in this mode, so players can familiarize themselves will all the locations. There will also be a lot more Loot Llama spawns than the three that can be found in the normal mode.
As this has been announced as a Limited Time Mode, it will not a permanent game mode and it is not clear yet as to how long it will be available, but we will keep you updated with any new information.
