Turbo Building – Good or Bad?

Building in Fortnite Battle Royale

Fortnite is known for its building, which is what sets it apart from other Battle Royale related games. There had been many issues that were reported at the end of Season 2 relating to building and players also wanted building to be improved on consoles.

Now in Season 3, building issues that were occurring previously have been resolved and switching building items and transitioning from weapons to building is a lot smoother than before. Auto changing of materials feature was introduced, which is when the material is automatically switched when you run out of material you had selected (this feature can be disabled in the games setting menu). This has been a welcome improvement by many and thanks to this addition, players won’t be dying due to wrong selection of materials.

Epic have also introduced Turbo Building. This is where players can now continuously place the selected building piece by holding down the Primary Fire button (this feature can be turned off in the games settings menu).

It is paramount for players to be good builders to survive in Fortnite and so players must master this skill. With the Turbo Building, it could be argued that players are not required to have much skill and it lowers the skill gap between good players and players that have not yet mastered the skill. This is because with the Turbo Building, it is very easy to spam the wall item in building, for example, and so more players will be able to run away from fights. This can be frustrating for more experienced players that have put in the time to perfect a much needed skill for Fortnite.

Let us know what you think about the Turbo Building option in the comments section below – is this a good addition or not?
